Caricature Workshop

Tyler Pike is a live Caricaturist, Cartoonist, Animator, Sketcher, Dancer and Adaptive Surfer from Kommetjie, Cape Town.

This inspiring, young talented man, who will be representing South Africa in the ISA World Para Surfing Championships, has learnt to overcome his physical challenges... and we know he will help you to do the same if you have a fear of drawing. So put your fears aside, grab a glass of wine from Furny's Fine Wines and come and join us for an evening filled with much laughter as we learn to appreciate each other's quirky features.

In this beginner friendly workshop, you will learn to breakdown and simplify different aspects of the face and understand how exaggeration plays an important role in creating caricatures.

We will start off with a series of warm up's teaching you the basics of shapes, facial features and proportions... we will even have a "cheat sheet" for those needing a little more assistance.

Please bring a photo of yourself, a celebrity or your favorite person to refer to for your final piece, which will be completed in graphite pencil.

Fundraiser for Tyler getting to the ISA World Para Surfing Championships...

After securing first place in the knee division, Tyler Pike, has been selected to represent South Africa at the 2023 ISA World Para Surfing  Championships to be held in California from the 5 - 11 November 2023.
