About the Event

In this workshop, we’ll be drawing from our imaginations with the  help of my illustration prompt cards! It’s an easy way to find  fantastical things to draw and learn to draw from your imagination. For  me, the joy of illustration is that you can draw anything. It’s not like  the boring art classes from the past where you have to draw a bowl of  fruit. Nope. Draw some cats in resort gear or an elephant with tattoos  instead!

You don’t need any special talents, skills or experience. You don’t  need to be creative or artistic. I’ve designed exercises to help you  overcome your fears and mental blocks and teach you how to think  creatively, illustrate your ideas and find your very own style. Whether  you’re an experienced artist looking to try something new or a complete  newbie who hasn’t drawn a stick figure since pre-school, you’ll love  this workshop.

My workshops are judgement-free zones where the focus is on having  fun because that is when you are able to create your best work and learn  the most.

All the art materials you’ll need will be supplied, as well as the  illustration prompt cards we’ll be playing with. No need to buy or bring  anything. We’ll start the workshop with some exercises, and then you’ll  create a final artwork using inks, watercolours and pens on watercolour  paper. I’ll guide you every step of the way, and there are no dumb  questions! You’ll leave with an original illustration that you created  yourself!

There will be prompt cards for sale @R300 a pack if you want to get your own set and continue the fun at home.

There are no food or drinks included, but there are great restaurants  a few steps from the venue and you’re welcome to grab a coffee,  croissant, pizza and snack and drink while you draw or bring your own  snacks and drinks.

Oh, and if you’re wondering who I am, I am a professional  illustrator, designer and art director with over 20 years of experience  as a working creative. I’ve won some awards,  I’ve learned a lot in that  time, and I love passing on what I’ve learned. I’ve been teaching since  2019 and have helped lots of happy students find their creativity and  confidence and hone their skills! And I have the 5-star reviews to prove  it. Look, I can’t sing, do my taxes or parallel park, but I can teach  you all about creativity and illustration!

I hope to see you there!
